Many respondents will, of course, mean different things by “electing the wrong President”. Some will probably have a “President Trump” in mind. For others the nightmare prospect will be a “President Bernie Sanders” or a “President Ted Cruz”. It underlines how America’s choice on 8th November 2016 is likely to define this year.
